Change of Status

If you do not meet admission criteria to be admitted as a Nursing major upon enrollment, you may still be admitted as a Pre-Nursing major. The program director will determine individual course requirements based on an evaluation of your academic qualifications at the time of your initial admission consideration.

Before you can request a change of status for admission into a Nursing program, you must:

  • Complete all courses required by placement (English, Reading, Math).
  • Complete a minimum of 12 credit hours at USF, including:
    • A Biology course (BIOL 221, BIOL 222, BIOL 223 or BIOL 270)

If you graduated from a non-accredited LPN program and meet all other admission requirements, you may be admitted as a Pre-Nursing major. Before you will be able to request a change of status for admission into a Nursing program, you must:

If you do not meet the admission requirements to enroll in a Nursing program at USF, you may still be admitted as an Exploratory Healthcare major.
